Apple announced the AirPods 5 today, and the price is the story. One twenty nine, with active noise cancellation included. A year ago, that same one twenty nine bought you AirPods 4 with no cancellation at all. If you wanted it, you paid one seventy nine. So noise cancelling AirPods just got fifty dollars cheaper. Apple says the new system removes up to fifty percent more noise than the old one, and battery life with cancellation on goes up to five hours, an hour better than before.

Twenty two hours with the case. There is a one forty nine version too, which adds a wireless charging case and a volume swipe on the stem. Pre orders are open now and they ship September eighteenth.
