This Student Built a Live Wallpaper Engine That Barely Touches Your RAM
Emmanuel Alabi wanted a live video wallpaper for Windows that wouldn't eat resources on his 8GB laptop. So he built LiveWall, a Tauri app that hides behind your desktop icons using an undocumented Windows trick, using under 10MB installed and about 85MB of RAM while playing a video.

Panos Koutsoumanis had to throw away a dead powerbank once because its cells were spot-welded to the board. So he designed Juicebox, a 3D-printed, 6700mAh powerbank with spring-contact battery holders, so a dead cell means a swap instead of e-waste.

Nikolaj Bjornager built the C# control framework that Aalborg University's Smart Production Laboratory now uses to teach new students its ACOPOS 6D magnetic levitation table. He's upfront that the project is archived and unfinished: the XML-based state machine layer he planned never got built.

This Kathmandu University Team Built a Voice-Based Depression Risk Screener Called Lucid
Four Kathmandu University students, Dalton Khatri, Sahaj Wagle, Saksham Dallakoti, and Abhyudaya Pokhrel, built Lucid, a private tool that listens to both what you say and how you say it to flag stress, emotional triggers, and depression risk, without the stigma of a questionnaire. It runs a late-fusion model on a very small clinical dataset, which was the actual hard part.

Abdelhamid Ellab and his team at ESPRIT built The Carthagenian Eagles, a 2D adventure game in raw C and SDL with no game engine underneath. Every hazard collision triggers a trivia quiz or a spot-the-difference puzzle, correct answers let you keep going, wrong ones cost a heart.
