ChatGPT, Claude and Grok all broke within the same half hour on September third. Claude went first, Anthropic status page flagging elevated errors around 9:41 AM Eastern. About ninety minutes later, ChatGPT, Codex and Grok started failing too, all at once, across three separate companies. That kind of overlap does not happen by accident very often. Reporters chasing the story landed on the same theory. Microsoft Azure was seeing its own spike in outage reports at the exact same time, and all three companies lean on Azure for parts of their cloud stack. Nobody has confirmed a single root cause publicly yet.
