Nintendo just confirmed a Legend of Zelda fortieth anniversary Switch 2, and the price tells its own story. The console costs five nineteen ninety nine, twenty dollars more than the standard Switch 2, which itself jumped fifty dollars on September first over a chip shortage. The matching Pro Controller runs ninety nine ninety nine, ten dollars over the regular one. Green and gold Joy-Cons, a black and gold Triforce dock, no game included.
Both ship October 29th, a week before the Ocarina of Time remake. In nine days, that console family went from four forty nine, to four ninety nine, to five nineteen ninety nine for the special edition. That's not just a collector markup anymore. That's two price hikes, stacked.
