AMD just revealed the most powerful workstation it's ever built. It's called the Threadripper Halo Station, and AMD showed it off today at IFA in Berlin. Under the hood: a 96-core Threadripper PRO chip, paired with two liquid-cooled Instinct MI350P accelerators, the same silicon AMD sells into AI data centers. Memory is the real story here. Up to 576 gigabytes of HBM3E, plus two terabytes of system RAM. That's enough to run an AI model with more than a trillion parameters, entirely on the machine, no cloud required. AMD hasn't announced a price, but outlets covering the keynote estimate a fully loaded unit lands around fifty thousand dollars. It's a direct shot at Nvidia's DGX line, just with a lot more memory to work with.
