Apple just found out its own customers wanted something it didn't plan for. The company launched new Mac Studio and Mac mini models on August twenty fifth, about two months earlier than usual, and according to The Information, it was because businesses wanted Apple silicon to run AI models locally. The new Mac Studio can hold up to five twelve gigabytes of unified memory, more than four times what a top consumer GPU offers. But Apple didn't build enough supply. The fully loaded five twelve gigabyte configuration won't ship until late October, and Apple reportedly has no dedicated enterprise sales team or AI strategy to match the demand. Some buyers gave up waiting and bought Nvidia's DGX Spark instead. Apple has the hardware everyone wants. It just wasn't ready to sell it.
