Apple Watch Series 12 costs the same three ninety nine as last year, and Apple spent the money on the sensor. Bigger electrodes for cleaner ECG readings. Photodiodes rearranged into a ring to catch more light. Larger, more efficient green LEDs. What that buys you is a heart rate reading every five seconds, all day, roughly sixty times more often than before. That density is what makes the new daily readiness score possible, zero to ten, telling you to recover, pace yourself, or go for it.
There is also audio intelligence on the wrist. Sound recognition, a fifteen second live rewind of what was just said, and Siri recaps of your day. Apple says none of that audio is recorded or stored. Pre orders are open, it ships September eighteenth.
