Microsoft just told Xbox subscribers that unlimited cloud gaming is ending. Starting in November, Game Pass Ultimate drops to just fifteen hours of cloud streaming a month. Premium gets ten hours, Essential gets five. That's down from no limit at all, a perk Microsoft only finished rolling out to every tier last year. Want more hours? You'll buy them through the Xbox Store, though Microsoft hasn't said what they'll cost yet. Unused hours do roll over. Microsoft says the change hits about four percent of subscribers, mostly people using cloud streaming as their main way to play. There's a flip side too. Anyone, even without Game Pass, will be able to pay by the hour to stream games they already own. Cloud gaming just became its own product, not just a subscriber perk.
